February & March 2021 Reads

While February ended with only reading Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult, March reads were easier and quicker with Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I've Loved Before Series. The Chicken Who Couldn't by Jan Thomas for children is an honourable mention, as we have read it every single night since borrowing it from the library!

Have you had the chance to read for pleasure yet this year? Leave a comment letting me know what you’re currently reading, what you’d like to read next, or what you’d think I might like to read. I’m constantly looking for new reading material!

1. Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult - With all that has been going on the past year, this was a difficult read. As a female minority myself, I found myself relating to the character, even if I’ve never been put in the same position or situation. It’s sad to think these types of situations still exist in our current day and age. I enjoyed the book. If you’re looking for a thought provoking topic, please give this book a read.

2. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han - A high school romance about an unlikely couple. I don’t quite remember high school being like this, but it was fun to read.

3. P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han - The sequel about previously mentioned unlikely couple and their young and blossoming (and also dramatic) love. Relationships depend on good and open communication! I felt the ending was a bit rush, but all loose ends were tied up.

4. Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han - The finale of the unlikely couple. The transition between high school to college is always exciting and complicated. Luckily, their story ends positively.

5. The Chicken Who Couldn’t by Jan Thomas - A honourable mention of this children’s book! It is about a chicken who keeps thinking “I can’t do that”, but at the end of the book, he realises it is all about mindset. He has to believe in himself.
