Brunch - Roots Cafe

Brunch - Roots Cafe - 01

Every month, I plan girls’ brunch at a local restaurant and invite a bunch of girl friends. Occasionally, brunch turns into dinner instead, and we all bring our families along to join us. I enjoy our monthly brunches, because we get to appreciate a good cup of coffee, (usually) good breakfast/brunch foods, and endless conversations catching up with each other’s busy lives.

This month’s choice was Roots Cafe. Roots Cafe provides locally sourced dishes at reasonable prices. Their breakfast menu ranges from breakfast sandwiches to omelets to classic pancakes. Their crepes are delicious as well!

The Benni - Poached eggs, heirloom tomato (seasonal) and choice of protein on toasted English muffin. Topped with housemade hollandaise and served with house potatoes.

My go-to dish is usually some sort of Eggs Benedict. At Roots Cafe, this was The Benni, which I added salmon to as a source of protein. It was perfect, especially the side of house potatoes! I ended up sharing some of my dish with my daughter.

One egg, small pancake, house potatoes, and a slice of bacon.

I ordered off the Little Sprouts Menu for my daughter. She asked for the one egg and small pancake with house potatoes and a source of protein. Of course, she chose bacon!

Overall, our experience at Roots Cafe was pleasant. I'd definitely revisit to try other dishes on their menu. My only complaint would be the lack of parking and a decent wait. Would that really be considered a complaint though? It only means Roots Cafe is doing something amazing, if everyone is clamoring for a table!
