I’ve spoken about dressing up for Halloween in a previous post. I love dressing up for the holiday, and I especially love dressing up with my daughter!

Over the years, we have dressed up as:

Wonder Woman & Wonder Baby - everything was crafted except for my tank top and her Wonder Woman onesie…

Sherlock & Watson from BBC’s Sherlock - everything was pieced together, and I hand painted my buttons and changed my buttonholes for the coat…

Eleven & her Eggo waffle from Stranger Things - my outfit and wig were sourced, but I sewed my daughter’s “waffle” dress from waffle textured fabric…

…and Babs & Buster Bunny from Tiny Toons - everything was crafted except for my shirt and jeans.

Most of the time, I end up crafting our costumes. For Halloween this year, my daughter decided she wanted to dress up as Spider-Gwen from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. I definitely wasn’t able to make her bodysuit, but it gave me the perfect excuse for me to dress up warmly and comfortably!

Instead of dressing up like Spider-Gwen like my daughter requested, I decided to piece together a quick closet cosplay to become a female Peter B Parker. I had the shoes and the sweatpants, so I just picked up a Spider-Man t-shirt and a green parka. Simple, quick, comfortable, and warm!

I rushed home after work, and we immediately left to trick or treat around the neighborhood. My daughter had a blast! I’ve noticed our neighborhood having a few more groups of children walking around this year. I’ve also noticed our neighbors giving out regular sized candy bars and also non-allergenic items, which is great on both counts!

What did you do for Halloween this year? Did you dress up? Did you stay home to pass out candy, or did you leave a bucket full of candy out like us and hope the honor system held? (The honor system in our neighborhood was weak this year…)
