Life Recap - 2020 Part 2

Follow along as I continue my stroll down memory lane for the second half of 2020, with highlights along the way for future me to look back on.

July 2020

- Went for a drive and had a piece of plywood destroy the front and driver side of the car.
- Celebrated my 10 year anniversary of moving to Utah and Independence Day with fireworks and a night flight over the valley!
- Started working on a personal project with my friend Emmy! (Still in progress!)
- Took a long road trip to Idaho for an outdoor socially distanced car show where baby girl fell in love with a horse swing.
- Made my first ice box cake and updated all the basement lights.

August 2020

- Introduced the kids to 3 Ninjas. “Rocky loves Emily!”
- Went camping, rafting down the Green River, and boating with the in laws. So glad the kids managed to get some social interaction!
- Lots of snuggles with the kitty Selene and lots of nail painting.
- Started virtual kindergarten and 8th grade!

September 2020

- Starting to get into the virtual school routine. More ice cream trips to Handels with lots of outdoor play and walks.
- Lots of riding the pocket bike to the gas station, with baby girl riding arms out to the side screaming and laughing.
- Visited the Hill Air Force Base museum.
- Dessert play date at Meet Fresh!
- Windstorm that uprooted giant trees and destroyed houses in UT.
- Celebrated Batman Day with bat crafts, a cake, and Batman Ninja.
- Had a social distancing doughnut party with a friend on my driveway. Doughnuts from ChubbyBakerSLC!
- Had our annual drive through Guardmans Pass to look at the changing leaves.
- Mystic Dining at Gardner Village for my birthday, complete with a dinner and magic show.

October 2020

- Dim sum at New Golden Dragon for the first time since Feb 2020.
- Finally took the training wheels off the two wheeler!
- Went to a local car show and walked around Silver Lake.
- Baby girl found lots of weird bugs like a horned beetle, a pink praying mantis, a white grasshopper, a giant grasshopper, and more.
- Annual pumpkin patch to shop for last minute pumpkins, with pumpkin carving.
- Princess Narwhal and punk/goth narwhal for Halloween!
- Visited friends in Vegas for Halloween and birthdays! Pumpkin patches, homemade sushi, empanadas, and The Mandalorian.

November 2020

- Tried Misfits and loved everything. However, husband didn't like the fruit flies so I had to cancel our subscription.
- Had bought season tickets for Ballet West so attended Nine Sinatra Songs.
- Drove up the canyon for snow.
- Play date with a friend again.
- Celebrated our wedding anniversary at Franck's.
- Last play date with our neighbor as it was getting way too cold to meet up outside.
- Awesome early Christmas bagel gift box from Yvo of Feisty Foodie!
- Roasted our hot pepper harvest. Husband was pleased!
- Thanksgiving!

December 2020

- Advent calendars this year were hot sauce, Minecraft Lego set and colorful hair extensions.
- Bought a fake tree, after being disappointed by the live tree selections for the past few years, and was pleasantly surprised. Ornaments chosen this year were Blue from Jurassic World and a sparkly narwhal, surprise surprise!
- Pierced baby girl's ears at Koi Piercing! Took the right ear piercing like a champ, but it was another 40 minutes or so to finish up the left ear. Pink sparkly flower earrings were chosen.
- Play date with Chloe when picking up her amazing toffee!
- Play date with some friends to do some basement cleaning.
- Holiday window stroll at The Grand America Hotel.
- Getting stranded in Price UT after a nice Christmas Eve flight.
- Christmas and matching pyjamas!


2020 was definitely stressful with lots of uncertainty. Looking back, it wasn’t all too bad overall. Lots of family time and lots of memories!
