Life Recap - 2020 Part 1

How apropos my last post was on January 1, 2020? Almost seems like a foreshadowing of how the year was going to be, no? Looking back, I suppose life wasn’t too bad - just different!

Follow along as I take a stroll down memory lane for the first half of 2020, with highlights along the way for future me to look back on.

January 2020

- A play date with our friends with lots of yummy food, who introduced us to Brown Sugar Boba Ice Cream Bars!
- A date night to celebrate my husband's birthday.
- A friend's birthday party at Boondocks where baby girl won a GIANT bouncy ball!
- Introduced classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to the kids!
- Celebrated Chinese/Lunar New Year!
- Celebrated a relative's birthday with go carts, bouncy houses, a jumping pit, and bowling!

February 2020

- Tried making crepes for the first time, and it has been added permanently to our breakfast menu. I switch up between these Strawberry Nutella Crepes or these Easy Blender Crepes from Oh, Sweet Basil.
- Spent a Saturday doing our income taxes for the first time in many many years. It was not fun…
- Created a Valentine’s Day box for the first time ever for daycare. I loved how it encompassed all of her interests, from princesses to spaceships!
- Had a Valentine’s Day craft and play date with a bunch of friends.
- Lots of arts and crafts, including a Totoro looking Batman symbol.

March 2020

- Started teaching baby girl how to ride a two wheeler, with training wheels.
- Baked some Sweet Potato Streusel Muffins and had a movie night!
- The world fell apart! I started working from home March 11th, and my husband started working from home March 12th. Even though my daughter was already staying home with us, we officially pulled her out of daycare March 30th.
- Bought a Nespresso machine for coffee survival and started the quarantine life. Plants were involved.
- Husband had a horrible grinding accident in the garage and required 3 layers of stitches for a total of 45 stitches.
- Woke up to an earthquake in the middle of the night.

April 2020

- Fully living the quarantine life. Lots of plants, cookies, home science experiments, and dumplings were had.
- Baby girl managed to get into my cosplaying stuff, and there were a few dress up days.
- Discovered my Google Pixel 2 takes amazing night time pictures.
- Helped husband's grandpa move from Vernal to Salt Lake.
- Baby girl got into snails and was so so so sad when she let her first snail back out into the wild.

May 2020

- More quarantine life with lots of snails and blanket forts. My little container herb garden fried in the UT sun and heat, and we became friends with our neighbors.
- Baby girl found a little wolf spider and accidentally squished it, resulting in many tears.
- Additional weekend trips to and from Vernal to finish the move.
- Chocolate and yeast care packages to a few friends who lacked necessities.
- Had family friends visit! We visited Loveland Living Planet Aquarium and did some outdoor activities.
- Both kids celebrated quarantine birthdays, and both were happy for cake!
- Tried drifting the RX-3.

June 2020

- More quarantine life with a rotation of snails, raising and letting go our butterflies, and arts and crafts.
- Discovered our broken back deck from baby girl climbing and jumping on it all day while singing Frozen II songs.
- Bought my dream cookware set!
- Had lots and lots of ice cream from Handels when a new location opened up nearby.
- More back and forth trips from Vernal for last moving items.
