Friendsgiving 2019

Chicken and Waffles at Hub & Spoke Diner

Chicken and Waffles at Hub & Spoke Diner

This year's Friendsgiving was hurriedly planned. Instead of hosting at someone's place, we decided to meet up at a restaurant instead. Hub & Spoke Diner was chosen for both their delicious menu and their ability to accommodate a large party reservation in two days!

Hub & Spoke Diner purchases their ingredients locally and also baked/makes several in house items. They also offer a few gluten free options for our dietary restricted friend. What I love most is having breakfast, lunch, and dinner served all day for 7 days a week!

My husband ordered the House Made Utah Elk Meat Balls, which came in a cast iron with creamy jalapeño polenta, pickled red onion and carrots, tomato & beer sauce. While he did enjoyed his selection, he wished it was a bigger portion.

The kids both chose the Kid's Mac & Cheese. I had a few bites when it cooled down, and it was a bit grainy to my dismay.

Lastly, since I have been craving fried chicken lately, I ordered the Chicken and Waffle, which came with a sweet potato waffle, fried chicken, fermented chile maple syrup, sunny side up egg, and potatoes. I was pleased with the juicy meat, crispy skinned chicken, and sunny side ups are my favorite so no complaints there either! Although I don't particularly like spicy foods, the spice was subtle, and not overwhelming, in the chile maple syrup. I'd definitely order this again.

The rest of the party ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, a Tuna Melt, a Fried Chicken Salad, and the Hub Burger. Everyone was satisfied with their meals.

If you're looking to support a local, family owned establishment serving appetizing American fare, I highly recommend Hub & Spoke Diner. You won't be disappointed!

Do you celebrate Thanksgiving? If yes, do you celebrate pot luck style, host a full menu, or go out somewhere? Let me know in the comments below. I'm interested to know how others celebrate!
